Weekend Snapshot: Not a Bird, Neither A Plane, It's a Kite! =)

We had a nice weekend, spent Sunday afternoon at the Immortal Gardens. Dad and son flew kite, had a great time and got tired of it but was soo happy, relieved after a week's work at the shop. This is the first time Tantan's been able to flew a kite by himself - sometimes guided by dad. He was so excited.

Thank God the weather is fine, the sun is out and the wind blew n-o-t so hard but enough to let the kite soar. =)

I made this page for the happiness challenge @ scrapflair.com. Used my son's baby picture way back in 2000, the kit in the challenge, photoshop as my editing software, used font curls for "happiness" and font mistral for the journal.

Journal reads: Happiness is my little boy's BIG smile at the camera.
Pure happiness it is - in a baby's eyes
knowing nothing about the imperfect world outside.

*Sweat* Two digital layouts in a day. Whew! Now, I'm starting to believe that digital scrapping is easier than the traditional and really... >>> NO mess =) just headaches brought by staring whole day at the computer, downloading scrap stuffs but it's a whole lot of fun getting those goodies from the net and finally scrappin them. Here's my 2nd lo for today.

Finally, a name given, a name blessed.
January 9, 2000, Saint Joseph Cathedral, SJC. It’s a simple welcome to Christianity for our little one. (The pictures are just photo-grabs from a video tape.)

I am using photo-grabs from the video tapes i've kept for so long (almost 8 years to be exact) for i don't have any still cam during those times. So now, I'm trying to save these memories by grabbing and making them into scraps. It's better to have them grabbed, scrapped then printed than to have them grabbed then printed (not scrapped) because the photograbs are relatively of low quality.

Journaling: He should have been a millenium baby but I had my water bag broken on December 2, early am. I never felt any pain, no labor at all although induced by my OB. So, the next day, Dec. 3, I gave birth to my only son, Tan-Tan. Premature at 8 months and a week, he had to be taken care of at the “Sick Baby” section of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Premiere General Hospital, Cabanatuan City. Above is the scanned original hospital tag his hospital crib posted during his 18 days stay at the NICU. The pictures (only photo-grabs from a video tape) on the left are taken on the 14th of December, almost 2 wks after his birth.

It reads: T'was the day after our simple wedding. Just stayed home in the morning and in the afternoon, had some fun outside - at our favorite park... Although we looked funny, (him-so skinny and with the annoying not so long hair and me - ugh! can't say a thing) I'm happy I've kept at least a few photos of us during those happy days.

I'd like to write in the journal in my perspective in real time, in my point of view now that I'm 31. It just makes me feel comfortable (not awkward) that is - on what I say or write...

My first LO: Vintage Family Scrap

Sorry, it had to be digital, not the traditional one.
Last week, I got the chance to look through scrapbook sections in the mall but I really can't dig the thing in it. I don't know what to pick. I don't know where to start. I don't even I have the tools (not even one sharp pinking scissors ) and so I had to hesitate and think twice on buying things that I might not be able to use, no, not in the near future. Then I found this one site, which features digital scrapbook. I browsed the different designs, some freebies, craved for it and tried one. Here it is. The baby is... believe it or not... ME! lol

I had to pick these two pictures 'coz I have no other choices. These two pictures are the only baby pictures I have. Poor me. I used Vintage Collection Embellishments and Backgrounds (designed by: Nayyancita) from www.ScrapbookFlair.com. The alphabet and font from www.freedigitalscrapbooking.com. I used Photoshop as my editing software. Btw, the dimension of my project is 8x10.
